Fatal car crash on North Sunrise Way in Palm Springs prompted road closures Saturday morning

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. -

New developments on a car crash that happened Saturday morning in Palm Springs.

The Riverside Coroner's office confirmed 26-year-old Oscar Eguizaval-Bautista of Desert Hot Springs is dead after a crash on north Sunrise Way, just west of east San Rafael.

The crash was first reported just after 2 a.m.

The Palm Springs Police Department shut down north Sunrise Way at east San Rafael for several hours Saturday morning as they investigated.

No other details are known at this time. We have reached out several times to the Palm Springs Police Department but have not received a response.
