Brush Fire Burns One Acre

Firefighters are trying to figure out what started a one acre brush fire Tuesday night. The fire was off of Golf Center Parkway in Indio and broke out just after 10 pm. Six engines and two dozen firefighters knocked down the flames in about thirty minutes. No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.

Lost Hiker Found Near Aerial Tramway

A Redondo Beach woman who became separated from her hiking companion was found by a sheriff’s deputy near the top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, a sheriff’s sergeant said today.
