June's Coachella Valley Spotlight Recipient is Catholic Charities.

Catholic Charities is a nonprofit that provides social services for low-income families and those in crisis in our local communities. They have provided services in the Coachella Valley for over 35 years.

Some of the ways they help people include:

• Family and community services such as homeless prevention, food assistance, and utility assistance.
• Immigration services such as legal consultations, status application assistance, and citizenship services.
• Counseling services including individual and family counseling as well as school-based services.

The $25,000 grant from the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation will go towards their Eastern Coachella Valley Food Distribution Program which brings food to those in need in Mecca, North Shore, and isolated trailor parks.
