Congressman Ruiz takes part in sit-in protest

Congressman Dr. Raul Ruiz took part in a sit-in protest over gun violence on Wednesday.

Among the many issues Ruiz addressed — he is demanding that Congress never shut down the American voice. During one of the biggest moments of his speech, Dr. Ruiz talked about his background in the medical field, and how he has gone through first-hand experience in seeing the victims of gun violence.

“And I have touched the chest of those patients, doing CPR, and needing to afterwards — after I have called their time of death — to go to their mother, to go to their father, their sons and daughters and their relatives, and say I am sorry, we have done everything possible to keep your loved ones alive, but they’ve died.”

Dr. Ruiz also said by sitting-in during the protest, he was standing up for his patients.
