Fourth suspect arrested in smash-and-grab at Palm Desert jewelry store
Police arrested a fourth suspect in connection with a smash-and-grab robbery at a jewelry store in Palm Desert.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Office announced on Thursday that an 18-year-old man from Los Angeles was arrested. The suspect was arrested after authorities served search warrants Thursday at 2500 block of Macy Street in San Bernardino, and the 800 block of 99th Street in Los Angeles.
The 18-year-old suspect was identified as the suspect in this robbery during the search warrant service, the agency noted.
The suspect was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside, where he is being held on $500,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
The robbery happened back along El Paseo on Oct. 5. All four suspects are from the Los Angeles area.
Los Angeles residents Mason Barron, 21, and Raymond Garcia, 24 were charged along with Byron Lee, 19, of Compton with one felony count each of robbery, grand theft over $950 and organized retail theft, according to court records. Barron, who was also charged with two felony counts each of robbery, grand theft over $950 and organized retail theft, also faces two felony counts of burglary along with Lee.
The three suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges last month at the Larson Justice Center in Indio.
Barron has previously pleaded guilty to grand theft over $950 and has an active case, in which he's suspected with a woman and two juveniles of robbing a jewelry store at the Palm Desert mall in July, according to court records.
