Thousands of holiday travelers are returning home from a long holiday weekend. At noon on Monday, traffic was already getting heavy through the Coachella Valley along Interstate Ten.

So far there have been no major issues reported by the California Highway Patrol for Memorial Day.

Meanwhile, the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire is at its lowest amount for Memorial Day since 2009, $2.797.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties rose one-tenth of a cent today, one day after dropping one-tenth of a cent, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is two-tenths of a cent more than one week ago but 1.6 cents less than one month ago, and $1.02 lower than one year ago.

Over the past 14 days, the average price rose five times, dropped five times and was unchanged four times.
