Motorcyclist in serious condition after crash on I-10
A motorcyclist is rushed to the hospital late Friday afternoon after officers say the driver rear ended a truck on Interstate Ten.
According to the Highway Patrol, they got a call of a motorcycle down just after 3:30 pm on westbound I-10 east of Cook Street. Traffic was backed up for almost an hour, as emergency crews worked to clear the accident. The motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital with major injuries. Officers say he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, officers say they are trying to determine if drugs/alcohol and or speed could have been a factor in the crash.
