Deputies evacuate area after reports of armed suspect in Thousand Palms
Update: Officers were able to make contact with the suspect and he was arrested without the use of force. Deputies said that he was booked into the county jail on multiple charges.
Riverside County Sheriff's deputies continue to investigate Sunday morning after they received a call about an armed man passed out near the intersection of Varner and Ramon roads. This is just off of the I-10 freeway there.
Deputies said they evacuated the area and are asking the public to stay away.
No word yet on any arrests made in connection to the incident. We have reached out to the sheriff's department for more information.
