Drowning in La Quinta Thursday afternoon

Riverside Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about an unresponsive adult Thursday afternoon in La Quinta, who had apparently drowned. It happened around 4:30 p.m., near Avenida Carranza and Calle Chihuahua. Deputies tried to save the person, but they were pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
