Local students take part in Great California Shake Out; here’s what school officials want parents to know

At 10:21 a.m. Thursday, schools across the Coachella Valley took part in the Great Shakeout to prepare for earthquakes. Desert Sands Unified School District and Coachella Valley Unified School District held the drill with an alarm to simulate an earthquake happening.
