Los Angeles Mayor Imposes a Downtown Curfew
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced a curfew Saturday evening after the arrest of over 500 people were arrested during a violent protest over the death of George Floyd.
Mayor Garcetti posting on Twitter that the curfew will place Saturday night beginning at 8 p.m. and ending at 5:30 Sunday morning in the Downtown Los Angeles area between the 110 Freeway to the west, 10 Freeway on the south and the 101 freeway on the north.
The announcement comes after protesters took to several cities across the country, including Los Angeles, in outrage over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
The Los Angeles Police Department says at least 500 people were taken into custody suspected of unlawful assembly and miscellaneous crimes.
